walk & learn to run club
Get outside, get moving and get fit as you walk, jog or run your way to better health, in our 12-16 week session that ‘run’ three times per-year.
Get on a program that really works, and all the advice and support you need to stay at it and improve.
The three club-program sessions start on a Tuesday each January, May and September, meeting in our White Rock store at 6:30pm every Tuesday evening after that. Please use the clinic registration form to sign up in advance.
Anyone with an interest in improving their fitness through walking and learning more about the joys of running in a fun and social atmosphere, is qualified to join. We offer two distinct programs at this level for walkers and those new to running. The Walk and Learn-to Run program offers a safe and gradual introduction to improved fitness and running. Learn-to-Run leverages the ‘Walk-Jog’ progression until you’re finally running for 30 minutes+, 3-times per week, at a pace comfortable to you. The Walk program is based on the Run program, only with no running!
Some people want to relieve stress or lose weight, and others just want to enjoy the outdoors in a social group/setting. Our program-design is specifically developed to help you gain strength and running/walking speed. At Peninsula Runners we strive to provide a safe, informative, FUN, motivating, and rewarding club atmosphere.
This Walk and Learn-to-Run club program is 14 weeks long. It will prepare you to walk or run-comfortably at your own pace, in any 5K – 10K fun run.
The cost of the club program is $90. This includes up to 14 Tuesday night workouts with your coach/Run Leaders at Pen Run’s White Rock location, and a 10% discount on all store purchases any time, and a special discount shopping experience open only to club members. We also provide a training schedule to help guide you through each week of the program. Guest speakers, experienced coaches and fantastic routes help inform, inspire & improve your running.
If you are interested in attending the Tuesday night clinic on a more casual basis, there is a drop in fee-option of only $7 per night.
