Welcome to the 21st annual Fort Langley Half Marathon and 5K presented by Peninsula Runners and Brooks Running Co. We have designed the course to be the most scenic half marathon in the country! The course starts and finishes at the historic Fort in Fort Langley, does a short tour through the town site before heading out into the surrounding countryside and rolling hills. Part of the route traces the historic Hudson’s Bay Co. “Telegraph Trail”. After running on the quiet rural roads, you will return to the finish line at the Old Apple Orchard by the Historic Fort. The 5 km route will be through the quiet streets of historic Fort Langley with some gentle up & downs. You do a 1 K loop to start then two larger 2 K loops.

After the race stick around for a drink and refreshments, the awards ceremony starts at 9:30. Prizes for age groups winners in the following categories for the half marathon: U19, 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, & 70+

All participants in both races will receive a unique PR Fort Langley t-shirt to prove you conquered the route as well as a designer medal to hang on your wall!

Half Marathon Course

The race starts and finishes at the Fort Langley National Historic Site located in Fort Langley. The course does a zig zag route on the way out of town along Bay, Francis, Royal, Mary, Queen and Bartlett to Glover Road and then out of town. You will then turn left onto Rawlison Crescent and follow this road until it meets River Road (3.5 km). The route will go East on River Road for 700 meters before turning onto Armstrong. The hill on Armstrong will be the most challenging part of the route. At 80th Ave you will proceed to Telegraph Trail and run on this historic road for a 1.8 km out and back before heading down 240th to Rawlison and thew Glover and back to the finish! It should be noted this course is challenging but very scenic. The main hill occurs at 8k on Armstrong road and rewards you with majestic views of Mt Baker as you summit. The last 11k of the route is slightly rolling, downhill and flat and will reward those who pace themselves with a fast time.

We will have 4 water stations out there for the run but three of them you will pass 3 times so in reality 7 stations. They all have water but two of them will have Tailwind Hydration as well. Stations are at 3.0, 5.4, 8.5, 10.3, 14.1, 15.6,18.0 K. The Tailwind will be at 3 and 18, and at 10.3 and 14.1.
